Enriching Our Lives
With the last two newsletters focusing on the importance of goal setting and perseverance, the focus of March will be how valuable hobbies are, and the breath of fresh air in which they can bring to our lives.
Introducing a hobby into your life means introducing adventure, interest, friends and new friends, knowledge, and most importantly, challenges.
Having a hobby that we enjoy brings us joy and enriches our lives. It gives us something fun to do during our leisure time and affords us the opportunity to learn new skills.
Living in the apex of the information age, it is becoming easier and easier to access information to learn skills.
“Hobby means doing something for the fun of it, not necessarily to make a living.”
– Theresa A. Husarik
Furthermore, aside from knowing more than you used to and being able to do things you never could before, taking on new hobbies will open you up to new friends and thus new experiences.
It will give you common ground to expand your social network and thus increase your opportunities.
And, the best part is, you have the leisure of investing yourself time and resources into your hobbies as much as you want.
Whether it be a post work past time or a genuine source of income, it does not matter.
The important thing is, is you are filling your life with something new to your life which no doubt will alleviate stress and and eliminate a level of boredom in your life.
In this newsletter we will be exploring the nature of hobbies, why it is important to invest in yourself, the dangers of not having hobbies, and fun examples of hobbies.
